| 3 - What is the C12000B component ? |
|
It is a SMD test terminal with specific product advantages, patented in following european countries : UK, Germany, Italy and France. The NICOMATIC SMD test terminal saves substantial time on mounting by avoiding :
- PCB piercing
- Hole plating
- Manual insertion and soldering of traditional test pins
Moreover, no specific test probe is needed, can be used at zero resistance, no special compartment is needed on auto-placing machine.
This product has been renamed C12000B instead of C12000-10-90 as early as March 2004, and a new gold version has been put onto the market under P/N C12000BG as well as a larger reel including 8500 SMT test terminals under code C12000B-8500. All other reels are packaged by 2000 components. Ask us for free samples!

|
| 11 - Does NICOMATIC sell headers in reels ? |
|
Yes, this option is possible upon request for certain headers. Products like the SMD test terminal C12000B integrates automatically a conditioning in reels (by 2 000 or 8 500 parts).
For headers, we have a -B at the end of the part number. Eg. M4S-10-141-20-9-B
|
| 12 - Does NICOMATIC sell ZIF connectors ? |
|
You have to check as these connectors are available upon request only under following part numbering system.
P=pitch : 0.5 / 1 / 1.25 mm
X=type : S = straight, R = flat mount
XX=number of pins (03-30)
|
| 13 - What is the admissible thickness for ZIF connectors ? |
The thickness for the cable is 0.3mm with a tolerance of +/-0.05. This data has also to be checked as the products are available upon request.
|
| 14 - Is the C12000B test terminal compatible with RoHS ? |
Yes. It is compliant: Material: Copper Alloy Cu 2µ + Ni 1 to 2µ + Sn 3 to 5µ (pure tin bright with nickel under layer) The part is also available in a gold version under part number C12000BG.
|
| 15 - 3Y-10-1X1-xx-1 and 8Y-10-1x1-xx-1, what difference ? |
the P/Ns 3Y-10-1X1-xx-1 named as standard female headers with 8.5mm height are not referenced any more and are obsolete since 2003. The product dimensions are same but the contact shape is different for the 8Y-10-1X1-xx-1 which has replaced the previous contact. Here is the shape of the so called snap-in system of our present part:

|
| 16 - If the length of pins on a PCB is 5,08mm and not 7mm, does that lead to problem on the contact area ? |
No, because the critical point of connection is between 2 and 5mm.
|
| 17 - What about RoHS ? |
NICOMATIC has put in place a policy to respect the european directive. Please consult the RoHS letter and position on the Internet.
|
| 18 - What about the plating ? |
By default, plating is electrolytic or gold on under-layer. The PCB connectors are RoHS. Some P/Ns are gold and other selective gold depending upon the product. You have to refer to the catalogue from April 2007.
|
| 19 - What does it mean when you say type B1 or type B2 for SMD sockets 7S-10-011/041-XX-9 ? |
These sockets are supplied in standard systematically with a B2 type configuration, which means contact number 1 on the left up. It is the reverse for the B1 type. Please refer to page 15 in the French catalogue CONNECTIQUE POUR CIRCUITS IMPRIMES.
|
| 20 - What does B1 and B2 mean at the end of P/Ns 5Y-10-211or241-xx-1 ? |
Product part numbers concerned : 5Y-10-211-xx-1 5Y-10-241-xx-1 (xx = number of ways comprised between 02 and 40)
For these P/Ns of female low profile through connectors in 5mm pitch, it is possible to distinguish between two types of configuration for the circuit. In the ordering information, you should therefore specify either 5Y-10-211/241-xx-1-B1 or 5Y-10-211/241-xx-1-B2 :

|
| 21 - Change in P/N 12-19-211-xx-1 and 12-19-241-xx-1 ? |
NICOMATIC made the change of the above mentioned P/Ns to new P/Ns 12-21-211-xx-1 and 12-21-241-xx-1. The P/N change does not change the product spec. Date of modification March, 5th 2007. A new customer drawing is available.
Thank you to take this change into account faor all orders made starting this date.
|
| 22 - What changes in the new catalogue (version April 2007) ? |
Generally speaking, the new catalogue includes the following identification which means optimal availability conditions. The parts supported by this sign are considered as standard by NICOMATIC that is to say they are available from stock most of the time and lead-time is quick.
Main modifications inside this catalogue:
page 5 : headers 12-19 become 12-21 and
16-52 become 16-21
page 6 : 1T are now in selective gold (-131) and gold plated (-141)
page 16 : 12548 contacts packaged by 5 000 parts in bulk is not available any more
page 19 : M1T parts are only available in selective gold and not in gold plated version
page 25 : New : discrete wire solution for connection from flat to round cable now available
page 28-29 : New : add-on of a gold plated version of the SMD test terminal under P/N C12000BG
Other : Update for pins especially on the plating
|
| 23 - Is it possible to use the right angle headers 1L-10-211-03-1 with 2SL03 discrete wire connectors? |
| Yes. |
