Today, CrimpFlex™ technology is recognized worldwide as the broadest range of connectors available from the shelf. It addresses multiple industries and especially membrane switches, touch panels, automotive, consumer & appliance, medical, lighting, green technologies, smart textiles & e-inks.
Generally, connectors for flexible circuits from NICOMATIC are connectors which serve to connect flexible circuits used in keyboards, flexible and printed circuits and specialists in serigraphy. For example, one would usually find 2.54mm and 1.27mm contacts in connections from card to card in rigid circuits. Flat cables are also found in automotive applications or in the interface of a machine-tool. All, or at least a great part of the mass-market electronics industry can be a user.
CrimpFlex™ originates to a NICOMATIC patent. It brings the best technical solution to the market in board-to-board connections. Contact crimping is obtained by piercing the conductor in 6 points, which ensures excellent mechanical retention by 2 points and electrical contact by 4 points with the lowest possible contact resistance.
Compared to existing large companies’ solutions, NICOMATIC offers the highest mechanical strength (15N min.) combined with the lowest contact resistance (5m Ω max.).
Crimping is done on all types of flexible circuits with thicknesses ranging from 50µ to 500µ. We can pierce most supports like polyester, FR4, polyimide, PTFE etc. Conductors can be copper, silver or carbon ink printing.
All manufacturing & design is done in-house for the contacts, housings, crimping equipment & flat FFC cables.
