optical fiber training

Copper remains the gold standard for the majority of interconnections. It is a proven technology with well-mastered qualification processes. However, for certain critical applications, the laws of physics impose limits. Beyond 10 Gb/s, copper creates weight, heat, and EMI shielding constraints that become increasingly difficult to manage.

The optical alternative is renowned for its bandwidth, yet it often raises legitimate integration questions: How can mechanical robustness be guaranteed? How do we interface with the electronics?

To answer these questions, we have structured an offering that secures not just the hardware, but also the know-how.

1. The DMM-MT Interface: Density & Secure Mating

Adopting optics shouldn't compromise your front panel.

High-speed data transmission connector with immunity to electromagnetic interference
  • The Solution: The DMM connector integrates high-density MT optical ferrules while retaining its aluminum housing and captive screw locking, essential for withstanding severe vibration environments.
  • The Performance: Compatible with round or flat cables, this module concentrates up to 24 optical channels within a compact, low-profile housing, thereby maximizing throughput per mm² on your panel.

2. The Active Engine: Optical Transceivers (4 Tx / 4 Rx)

Electrical-to-optical conversion must occur as close to the board as possible to eliminate losses.

  • The Specification: Our transceivers are compact "Board-mount" modules featuring 4 transmit (Tx) and 4 receive (Rx) channels.
  • The Performance: They deliver up to 25 Gbps per channel with a 15 dB optical budget at 10 Gbps, ensuring reliable transmission. Their optimized thermal management and extended temperature range allow for safe integration into dense enclosures.

3. Technical Enablement: R&D Training

Beyond supplying components, we believe that the success of a project lies in comprehensive mastery of the system. That is why, at Nicomatic, we provide tailor-made training courses to support your teams in this technological transition.
